A passion project built on four decades of salon experience — and a commitment to give it all back to the industry that made it possible.
We celebrate salon owners and managers, and we understand their challenges, problems, and triumphs. We come from a place of humbling gratitude — fortunate to have founded New York City’s most successful salon chain in history — and we are now focused on giving back what we learned (through trial and error) to help other salon owners and managers be as successful as possible with their businesses, using color and products.
Our color and products are a passion project developed by Rock, who founded the salon chain Dramatics NYC in 1984. Having reached a time in his career when he could focus on helping others in the beauty industry, Rock took the methodology behind his own success and integrated it into a color and products venture built on behalf of salon owners.
Color and products are the true keystone for business and artistic success for a salon owner. Knowing this first-hand from generating his own achievements, Rock — a master colorist — realized he needed to develop the finest color possible. And so, The Healthy Color was born.
We’re looking for salon owners who want to learn how to make their salon more successful — building stylists into high-performance artists, truly one-of-a-kind individuals who want to color outside the lines and create stunning looks that leave hair as healthy as it is beautiful.

Mission
We help salons grow artistically and commercially through “The Healthy Color” approach: ammonia-free, botanical permanent color paired with the tools and insights salon owners need to build a lasting practice around healthy hair.

Education
When a salon becomes a Healthy Color partner, Rock — or a stylist he personally trained — visits in person or over live video to coach your team on technique and on turning first-time guests into repeat clients. Every partner salon goes through this training before going live with the line.
Reality Show
The Healthy Color team is producing the reality-show pilot “Beauty Advisor NYC” — a series following our work to give back to and transform the beauty industry alongside salon owners and managers. Our production team is part of the cast, and we’re always looking for the next beauty advisor to feature.
